Buying Guide
Nationally, 3cm is the more common standard. California trends the other way — 2cm has become the more common choice on the West Coast for its sleeker, contemporary profile.
Sleeker, more minimalist profile that fits contemporary LA kitchen design. Typically requires a plywood subtop and laminated edge, which narrows the cost gap with 3cm once labor is factored in.
No plywood substrate needed, heavier and more traditional edge profile. Still widely available and installed across LA — the safer default for maximum durability.
We recommend confirming thickness with your LA fabricator, or consult with our experts.
Quartz Countertop Installation
“Near me” usually means more than just where to buy the slab — it means who can fabricate and install it close by. GoSource works with a network of fabricators across the LA metro, from [neighborhood] to [neighborhood].

LA Market · 2026
LA has its own design identity. California Cool with a high-end residential edge. These are the quartz trends driving specifications across the market today.
Ivory-base slabs with warm sandy veining are outselling cool whites across LA residential. MSI Calacatta Laza, Caesarstone Statuario Maximus, Cambria Brittanicca Warm. Organic tones that pair with warm wood and brushed gold.
Trending Up
Polished quartz dominated for a decade. LA designers are increasingly specifying honed and brushed finishes for a softer, less reflective look. Especially bathroom vanities and outdoor applications in hillside homes.
Gaining Share
Bel Air, Pacific Palisades, Studio City hills. High-end LA projects are book-matching quartz walls and fireplace surrounds. Jumbo slab formats (126″×63″+) are in demand across multiple GoSource vendors.
High-End Demand
The waterfall edge remains the default specification on LA kitchen builds across all price points. 2CM mitered edges deliver this look efficiently. Lower material cost, same visual impact as a full 3CM slab.
Holding Steady
The gray quartz wave of 2018–2022 has peaked in LA. Taupe, greige, and warm white are taking over the mid-range. Bold veined patterns — black, verde, dramatic white-on-gray — are holding at the luxury segment.
Declining in Mid-Range
LA’s climate drives demand for quartz specified across indoor kitchens and outdoor entertainment areas simultaneously. Poolside countertops, outdoor kitchens, covered patio bars. Material consistency is a key client request.
